Abstract

Tamantirto Village is a village with a population of 728 categories of poor households (28.46%). To reduce the level of poverty which is done by providing knowledge and skills of local resource utilization in the community. Transfer of knowledge and technology conducted by extension, practice, creation of demonstration plots as well as comparative studies. Knowledge and presence will include fish farming, household waste management, recognition and processing of medicinal plants into instant beverage and syrups. The result is a rural communities of Tamantirto was service capable of freshwater fish culture technologies and conduct intensive cultivation with a pool  tarp.  Capable  of  processing  organic  waste  into  compost  and  liquid fertilizer and manage of inorganic waste. Rural communities recognize a variety of  medicinal  plants  in  the  environment  and  can  process  them  into  instant beverages  and  syrups.  Society  has  increased  the  quality  of  life  of  its environmental cleanliness and income

Abstract

Video conference application to long distance guidance is a real time communication application service used to organizes consultation conference in Internet. The online consultation application can support text communication, face-to-face communication, dialogue-based communication, and sharing se- minar material presentation. The design of the online consultation application program consists of three parts,  which  are  a server  application program,  a lecturer application program and a student application program. The importance of the real time communication in organizing online consultation system is its capability to create virtual environment (Internet) as a replication of real world communication, because it supports text communi- cation, file presentation, face-to-face communication and direct dialogue between participants. The  face-to-face  communication  and  direct  dialogue  can  create  a dynamic interaction environment, because participants can interact face-to-face, directly talk to each other, obtain feedback, present physical reaction of other participants, and chatting using text communication. It become a solution to the problem of distance and time for meeting activities of two or more individuals using internet. The result of the research are sequence diagram and class diagram de- sign. Sequence diagram is used to representation communication scenario. Class diagram  is  used  to  representation  communication  functions.  That  contains group functions and rules/processes necessary in communication. The classes formed in the class diagram design are directly used as object classes at im- plementation level in the form of online consultation application program code

Abstract

The objectives of this activity are improving knowledge about how to initiate environment  based  science  laboratory work  and  giving  more  infor- mation to make science teachers feel enthusiastic, interested, and commited to create,  develop  and  implement  science  laboratory  work  in  their  school creatively. The target of this activity is science teacher at Kodya Yogyakarta. As for  execution  methods  worn  in  this  activity  are  experiment,  discourse, discussion  of  information  and  presentation.  The  materials  are  conducting science laboratory work through environment based, some difficulties and the solution which are found in the science class while conducting laboratory work. Science laboratory work focuses on giving information to the student about how to optimize daily activities for science laboratory work. Training is conducted in a day at Junior High School 1 of Yogyakarta. Then, in another day (one week after training process), each science teacher have to demonstrate and present their laboratory work design. Generally, this activity has been succeeded in understanding and devaloping some skills of conducting environment  based science laboratory work. Through this activity, knowledges and experiences of creating and conducting of environment based science laboratory work has been understood by science teachers in Kodya Yogyakarta which are formed in MGMP forum. All participants are active and giving positive responses. Moreover, this activity has been succeeded in developing a design of science laboratory work. About 20 design have been created by all participants

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to evaluate the changes in temperature, pH, and moisture mixed media during the composting process of rice straw and cow manure using earthworms Lumbricus rubellus as bioactivator. Vermi- compos is carried out by making a mixture consisting of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of waste rice straw in cow dung. The media is inserted into a plastic container and then fermented. In every 250 grams of fermented media is insert- ed as much as 250 grams of earthworms (Lumbricus rubellus) aged 2 months. During the composting process, regular measurement of temperature and pH of the media was doing. At the end of composting with earthworms, temperature is lowest at 26-28.6 ºC, there are  0% -25% of rice straw in cow dung. While the temperature of the media without earthworms lowest in the range of 26.8-29,3 ºC, there are 0% -25% of rice straw in cow dung. Media acidity during the composting process was almost the same for media without earthworm and with earthworms. Humidity highest during the composting process with earth- worms is around the 50.17 to 65.48% (0% rice straw), while the highest media moisture during the composting process without earthworms ranged from 50.07 to 64.36% (0% rice straw) (100% rice straw)

Abstract

This training aims at giving preview in the arrangement of swimming teaching  model based on religious moral values  for students of FIK UNY. There are two approaches for activities method. First is theoretical approach which consists of material presentation, discussion, and question answer. Se- cond one is practical approach which consists of mastering the swimming basic technique, class management based on religious moral values, water games, etc. Each of approaches then was evaluated  using  swimming  teaching  program based on religious moral values. The material presentation focuses on: theo- retical and practical material about swimming basic skill, swimming rules, basic safety water, and swimming teaching model based on religious moral values. The indication of training successfulness could be seen from the high motivation of participants in following it and also from the new science and skill about swimming learning model based on religious moral values that was gotten. The program of people service was going well and followed by 31 of participants. Based on result discussion that was presented then there are some high light points: (1) There are lots of students voices that hoping a special class in swimming subject which separates male and female students, (2) They also want to use swimsuit that can close over the body, (3) there is a tension from female students who wear veil then she leave out it because of swimming rule about cloth manner in swimming class, (4) time for swimming class is just same with public visitors who also use same facilities of pool so then it could be like a public show for them, (5) It should be a female teacher for female students and a male teacher for males

Abstract

Pengabdian  pada  Masyarakat (PPM)  in the purpose to  creating  pre intruktur senam Lansia Bugar (SLB) in sub district in the Gantiwarno of district and Klaten of regency. PPM has been did on July,16-17, 2010 in the sport building of Jabung sub district, Gantiwarno of district and Klaten of regency. PPM  in  using  of  speaking,  demonstrate,  command  and  reciprocal methods. The practice has been did in 16 hour. Practicing such as physical fitness of theory, gym of training principle, prevent of injury principle, and practical such as SLB. The instrument such as of reactive, participation, absent and eager to a move and the technical truly of SLB. From the result of practice has been fended 5 people (12%) in excellent categories, 36 people (88%) in good categories. From in this practice, have been did competition with our sub district and the instantion to celebrating independence day of Klaten regency and also in celebrate independence day of RI as result : 1st winner is  Unit Pendidikan Tingkat Daerah (UPTD), 2nd winner is Towangsan sub district, an 3rd winner is jabung sub district

Abstract

This Community Service Program was intended to provide knowledge and skill in terms of: 1) snack food with various materials and processing tech- nique; 2) processing various types of Snack food using basic materials of flour (rice, wheat, sticky rice), and cassava by means of various processing techniques; 3) serving and packaging Snack food in a more interesting and hygienic way and 4) appropriate pricing for the fast-food. The training program was implemented in July 2010 by involving 25 non-working housewife mothers in the area of Pringgodani sub-village of Mri- can Yogyakarta. The materials provided included: knowledge on basic concepts, types and characteristics of Indonesian Snack foods, making Snack foods using various materials of flour (rice, wheat, sticky rice) and cassava as well as serv- ing and packaging Snack food in a more interesting and hygienic way in order to be appropriate for sales, and calculating the selling price of the Snack food. Methods used in the training were lecturing, question and answer, demonstra- tion and practice. The results of the Community Service Program were: 1) the participants have knowledge on Snack food using various materials and types and process- ing techniques; 2) the participants are able to make various types of Snack food using various types of materials and techniques of processing; 3) the participant are able to serve and package Snack food in a more interesting and hygienic way, and 4) the participants are able to appropriately calculate the selling price of the Snack food. Suggestions made based on the results of the program were: 1) the need for providing fixed outlets/food shop to serve the Snack food made by housewife mothers in such a way that it could be the center for Snack food shop and the housewife group should not vend their Snack food products; 2) the training program participants need to develop variations of their Snack food products in order to cope with bored buyers in such a way that the Snack food products accepted by consumers

Abstract

This research is aimed to disclose fogging machine application effectiveness for improving klengkeng pingpong seed production. The effectiveness of fogging machine may be measured based on the degree of the fogging machine usage success in klengkeng pingpong nursery process, whose degree of achievement shall be higher than nursery process conducted in natural manner. The research result shows that the average degree of achievement in klengkeng  pingpong  nursery  in  way  of  seedling,  top  grafting,  bridging  or marcot, by using fogging machine is 79.26%. Meanwhile klengkeng pingpong nursery process in natural manner is approximately 40%. In return to this, it indicates that fogging machine usage on klengkeng pingpong nursery is deemed effective as it  has exceeded successful level of natural klengkeng pingpong nursery. Thus, it may eventually be applied in improving klengkeng pingpong seed production

Abstract

Electric welding training held for 20 days, where participants will be given motivation to work and welding techniques. Activities carried out by focusing the skills, so 70% of the activity, an internship, 20% is the deepening of the theory of welding, and 10% is enlightenment activities to increase motivation.  Instructors part  of the permanent  faculty Trunojoyo  University, others are practitioners in the field of electric welding. The result of this activity are: (1) to produce 40 skilled people who can perform the electric welding, which already has a local certified welding, electrical (2) to produce 40 skilled people who can compete with other workers (3) produces 40 skilled people who can be channeled directly to work as an electric welding workers

Abstract

Sukorejo village, Musuk, area at Boyolali is dry farm field, whereas this field is a breeder center of milking-cow and flesh-cows. They give food to cattle by traditional method, that is the grass is cut by knife and then give directly to the animals. In wet season, this method is no problem, but in dry season this method makes a problem because there are not easy to get much grass  for  cattle.  Consentrate  mill  and  rice  siftings  are  become  food substitution from its food although with high price. It is really, whereas agricultural rubbish (e.g.: stick of tuberous plant, stick of papaw, “lamtoro” stick, etc.) are in stock very much. Truly, this agricultural rubbish can be changed (by choping) become weft cattle. To solving this problem, team PPM FT UNY give a solution by making a manufactured agricultural rubbish machine and application of a silase  complete  weft  cattle  preserve  technology for  farmer  and  breeder group.   The PPM used several methods : presentation, trained, practiced, and made manufactured agricultural rubbish machine. The topic of training is complete weft cattle preserve technology (fermentation method), machine operation, safe and true maintenance of machine. The results of this PPM speciality programm  are : (1) farmer and breeder get 1 unit manufactured agricultural rubbish machine; (2) farmer and  breeder  get   a  skill  about   silase  complete  weft   cattle  preserve technology; and (3) they have could change agricultural rubbish become weft cattle, so it can increase of their grade prosperity
